Intrinsic
Intrinsic builds an AI-based software platform intended to make industrial robots easier to program and deploy, spun out of X (Alphabet's moonshot factory) in July 2021 and operating as a distinct company under founding CEO Wendy Tan White. Its core developer product, Flowstate, is a web-based environment for building, simulating, and deploying robot workcell applications, validated with robot maker Comau and integrated with Siemens Digital Industries' automation portfolio. In October 2025 it released the Intrinsic Vision Model (IVM), an industrial-grade perception foundation model covering pose estimation, tracking, segmentation, and point-cloud generation, which placed first in 7 of 11 BOP benchmark challenges at ICCV 2025. Intrinsic integrates NVIDIA Isaac Manipulator foundation models and Isaac Sim/Omniverse into Flowstate for grasping and motion, and stewards Open Robotics/ROS via its 2022 acquisition of the OSRC team. In November 2025 it launched a joint venture with Foxconn to deploy AI-driven robotic workcells (assembly, inspection, machine tending, logistics) across Foxconn's US factories; in February 2026 it moved from Alphabet Other Bets into Google, remaining a distinct entity working closely with Google DeepMind.
