ROPCA, a University of Southern Denmark / Odense University Hospital spin-out, builds ARTHUR, described as the world's first fully automated clinical ultrasound-scanning robot for rheumatoid arthritis diagnostics. ARTHUR autonomously scans 11 joints per hand and processes images with the AI model DIANA for arthritis assessment, handling about four patients per hour without an operator. The system was CE-approved in September 2022, has been in daily clinical use at Svendborg Hospital since February 2024, and is placed in four Danish hospitals.
