Schiebel

Defense marketsecurityinspectionmarineCurated record

Schiebel builds the CAMCOPTER family of coaxial-availability VTOL unmanned helicopters that fly missions autonomously via pre-programmed waypoint navigation with automatic takeoff and landing, including shipboard recovery on moving frigate decks. The flagship S-100 (200 kg MTOW, 50 kg payload, 6-10 h endurance) has been integrated on FREMM, FDI and Gowind-class warships and carries EO/IR gimbals and maritime-patrol sensor payloads. The heavy-lift S-300 (350 kg payload, 24 h endurance) extends the line and was selected in June 2026 as the airborne platform for the European Defence Fund SWORD anti-submarine warfare system-of-systems. The company began in 1951 in electronics and mine detection and pivoted to unmanned VTOL air systems in the 2000s; the UAS line is its modern core business.
